Brösen was mentioned at the documents in 1323 as settlement Bresno. But from 1245 this village was a part of Cysters monks' property.

During centuries it has a character of small fishmen's village. There lived poor fishmen in Brösen, in less than twenty houses at the seashore.

Brösen became a bath place much earlier than Zoppot. The baths were built in Brösen in 1820. Brösen became very famous spa-place in the beginning of 20th century, mostly during 20s and 30s.

Brösen became a part of Danzig in 1914 and played role of baths for Gdansk citizens. There were about 168 thousands visitors in 1936.
