General von Steuben

The SS General von Steuben (formerly called München, but renamed in 1938) was a German passenger ship which was used as a hospital ship in World War II.
On 9th February 1945 the 14,600-ton liner left port in Pillau with 2000 wounded, 230 nurses, 30 doctors and about 2500 civil refugees. At 0:50 was hit by two torpedoes from the same soviet submarine S-13. After the explosions, the ship started to burn and sank after 7 minutes. Only 300 soldiers were saved. About 4500 people died.
