Cure house in Zoppot

The first cure house was built by Jean Georg Haffner in 1824. It was small, one-floor building located sheer to the sea shore. In 1837 second floor was added to the cure house.

In autumn 1879 works on the second cure house started. The new house was opened in 1881, it was built of timbered walls filled by bricks with many carved details and decorations. The new house was located at Nordstrasse (Powstancow Warszawy street), parallel to the sea shore. Cure park with fountain arranged between the house and sea.

In September 1909 the second house was pulled down and the new, third cure house was built on its place. The third cure house was designed by professor of Technische Hochschule in Danzig, Karl Weber, city architect Paul Puchmüller and architect Adolf Bielefeldt participated in the project. Grand opening of the new cure house had place on 16th June 1910. Cafeterias, restaurants and halls of dance were localised in the house. The International Dance Contest were organised in cure house's Great Hall. Casino and hotel were opened in neighbouring houses. Concerts, fashion shows and other shows and performances were organised in cure park.

In 1945 the building was destroyed, only the rotunda with winery surviewed. The new cure house was built at the same place almost 65 years after the war.
